Our Mission

Andover Therapy Services is a place where healing and growth are possible.
We believe that grief, loss, and trauma need to be held with compassion—not pushed away or carried alone. Healing happens when we give ourselves permission to pause, feel, and make meaning of our experiences.

Our mission is to create a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and valued—both in their relationship with us and, most importantly, within themselves. We strive to support each person in aligning with their values, honoring their roles, and reconnecting with their most authentic, true self.

Our Dedicated Experts, Here to Support You

Katy MacDonald, LMHC, PMH-C

Katy is a licensed mental health counselor and owner of Andover Therapy Services. Since 2012, Katy has worked in the Boston area with adolescents and adults from marginalized communities, using clinical skills and evidence-based practices to treat a wide range of mental health conditions. In addition to Katy’s general practice, she has experience and a passion for providing specialized treatment to the perinatal population to address mood and anxiety disorders that are encountered in addition to addressing emotional complications that may occur from unexpected challenges during the journey to parenthood, including infertility, grief and loss, birth trauma, and relationship strain, in addition to parent-child attachment difficulties.

Katy uses evidence-based practices from Ego-Parts Work, EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure-response prevention, and mindfulness practices, in addition to techniques from positive psychology and dialectical behavioral therapy, to tailor the client’s treatment and help them develop insight to triggers from past relational wounds and internalized distorted beliefs that are contributing to mental health suffering in the present day. In 2023, Katy completed training curriculums (parts 1 & 2) in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy for the perinatal population through The Institute for Creative Mindfulness.

Katy is invested in validating her client’s emotional experiences and offering a safe space for emotional exploration and for new coping skills to develop. Katy says “Together, we will manage your scary thoughts, regulate your emotions, and utilize your strengths to build confidence and get you back to feeling like yourself again.”

Hayley Pare, M.A., Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Intern)
Graduate Intern, Merrimack College

Hayley Pare is a master’s level clinical intern currently completing her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Merrimack College. She brings a grounded, compassionate presence to her work and is dedicated to walking alongside individuals through life’s most tender and transitional moments.

Before pursuing a career in psychotherapy, Hayley worked in case management at Lawrence District Court, where she supported adults in accessing substance use treatment and navigating community-based services. This experience enriched her understanding of systemic barriers, the complexity of recovery, and the long-term impacts of trauma on both individuals and families.

As a mother of two young daughters, Hayley brings personal insight and deep empathy to her work with new and expecting parents. She holds a special interest in supporting individuals through the perinatal period—believing this transition often brings early attachment wounds and unresolved trauma to the surface. Hayley is committed to creating a safe, attuned therapeutic space where clients can explore and heal the parts of themselves that may have been long buried.

Hayley’s clinical work is rooted in a person-centered and strengths-based framework. She draws from a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), ego parts work, polyvagal-informed therapy, and developmental psychology. She welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and identities, and approaches each client with warmth, curiosity, and respect.
